Promotion and relegation is a process that takes place at the end of each season in which teams are transferred between divisions.
The number of teams exchanged between each division is identical.
The promotion and relegation rules within Štandardné hracie svety are explained within the Competitions page under Tournament Information.
For example, here are the promotion and relegation rules within an English Championship:
However, it is worth noting that in some Štandardné hracie svety, for example within an Australian Championship, there is no promotion or relegation due to being a single division.
The promotion and relegation rules within Obyčajné hracie svety is explained within the Competitions page under Tournament Information.
The rules within each Obyčajný hrací svet will vary from one Hrací svet to another.
This is because on creation of a Obyčajný hrací svet, the Hrací svet owner can choose the number of divisions as well as the number of clubs promoted and relegated.
Even if promotion and relegation is present within the Obyčajný hrací svet, there might not be any promotion play-offs due to the Hrací svet owner choosing not to have this feature.
However, it is worth noting that in some Obyčajné hracie svety, where there is only a single division, there is no promotion or relegation.
The amount of prize money a club receives for gaining promotion is dependent on two main factors, type of Hrací svet and economy level (with the latter only applying to Obyčajné hracie svety).
Regarding the amount of money a clubs receives upon promotion, it will not be a massive one off payment.
Following promotion, a club will see an increase in gate receipts, season ticket sales, merchandise and TV revenue throughout the course of the season, which will total many extra millions.
This is also what happens in real life, promoted clubs do not get written a massive cheque at the start of the season, but benefit throughout the season by the increased revenues.
Clubs that get promoted also see their attendances increase towards the average of the new division.
Promoted clubs will have their stadiums gradually built bigger, towards the average attendance of the new division (see Stadium Building).
When a club suffers relegation, their players will not demand to leave the club and the manager will not be sacked by the Chairman.
However, it is worth noting that in some Obyčajné hracie svety, the Hrací svet owner can choose to have managers sacked if they finish in a relegation place.
The downside of relegation, however, is that a club will see a decrease in gate receipts, season ticket sales, merchandise and TV revenue throughout the course of the season.
Clubs that get relegated will also see their attendances decrease towards the average of the new division.
